Israeli authorities announced on Sunday that a security cordon is going to be imposed on the West Bank and Gaza Strip for four days due to the Jewish Purim holiday, Ahlul Bayt reported.

The Jewish Purim holiday will start from Tuesday the 27th until midnight Saturday, where Gaza crossings with Israel will be closed and entry into Israel for permit holders will be banned, according to Israeli army.

Meanwhile, only humanitarian and medical cases will be allowed to exit and enter the Israeli territories, but only after obtaining approvals from Israel.

This is not the first time the occupied Palestinian territories are closed off during Jewish holidays.

According to Maan, in October of last year, the Israeli authorities completely sealed off the West Bank and the Gaza Strip for 11 days for the duration of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, Maan report.
