Thought the sunny weather this past week was the sign of an early spring? Think again. Today confirmed that there still may be more gloomy days before the sun comes here to stay.
If you drove to work today in elevated areas of Jordan such as Amman, you may have seen dense mist clouds wavering over the road of your morning commute, not to mention the slow rainfall that has now intensified. These weather conditions are expected to last into at least late morning.
We warn all to keep safe on the roads and to prevent accidents by driving at least a third of the speed at which you would regularly drive. For example, if you would usually travel 60 kilometers per hour, you would need to travel at around 20 kilometers per hour in order to best prevent any accident, depending on the intensity of the conditions.
Also, a statistically proven tip that saves lives is to leave a distance of two cars between you and the car in front of you. Lastly, remember, if your car does, in fact, hydroplane, release your foot off the accelerator and steer in the direction that your front wheels should go. Do not turn your wheel suddenly.
Hopefully we will be seeing sunny skies again soon. Until then, grab a book, a cozy blanket, and enjoy!
