The Greater Amman Municipality said in a statement that it will take responsibility for a fire that destroyed a store in west Amman, should an ongoing investigation prove that one of its workers was responsible for it.

The store that sold motorcycles went up in flames after municipality workers tried to remove an umbrella which was placed illegally by one of its repair workshops.

GAM expressed its sadness over what had happened, adding that it will take the necessary legal action against the person who caused the fire and require them to compensate the store owner, should police prove that one of GAM’s personnel were responsible for it.
