The health minister, Dr Muhammad Al-Shiab has declared the termination of the grace period given to tourist facilities offering shisha, as they were given a deadline to meet with the health standards of public places offering shisha and smoking.
He also added that the ministry will be conducting a wide campaign to overseen these facilities and if they adhere to the required conditions which the ministry has announced, and won’t be tolerating any violations.
According to director of health media and awareness, these conditions include acquiring a prior license to offer shisha, and separate smoking from non-smoking areas, in addition to installing filtering and ventilation system that matches the ministry’s specifications.
These conditions must be completely applied by facility owners, and are punishable by law.
