Starting Sunday, 7th January 2018, Jordanian citizens will no longer be able to extend the validity of their expired/valid passport, the Civil Status and Passports Department announced on Sunday.

The Department said that their decision was made after many Jordanian citizens residing abroad were unable to use their extended passports in some countries, due to those countries’ internal policies.

This might cause a problem for those with long-term visas or resident visas stamped on their current passport, as they might need to have new ones stamped on their newly-issued passport.
