Israeli forces on Sunday detained 16 Palestinians from several cities across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, according to WAFA news.

Israeli soldiers arrested two Palestinians east of Bethlehem, after raiding and searching their home.

Another two 20 year-old Palestinians were arrested at a military checkpoint on their way to Ramallah, while another two Palestinians were arrested during a raid into the city of Nablus.

Israeli police also detained 10 Palestinians from the occupied city of Jerusalem, as well as a young man from the town of Biddu, northwest of Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, to the south in Hebron, Israeli soldiers chased and shot at a vehicle carrying Palestinian workers and arrested two.

Since U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement, recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, thousands of Palestinians have been injured, while Israeli forces, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society, have detained close to 700 Palestinians since the announcement.
Palestinian and Arab leaders had warned Trump of causing instability and unrest in the region.
