The Islamic movement held on Friday a demonstration in Amman against U.S. president Donald Trump's latest decision to recognize Jerusalem as an Israeli capital earlier in December.

The demonstrators held banners with slogans opposing the American announcement, stressing that Jerusalem and the holy sites are an important cause for Jordanians.

Popular protests around the American embassy in Abdoun, Amman, also continued, with people are demonstrating at the location since the announcement was made.

Other demonstrations were held in many Jordanian cities including Aqaba, Al-Zarqa, Al-Tafeeleh, and Irbid, with protestors chanting against the American step, and supporting the Palestinian resistance.

Demonstrations against the decision have been held since the announcement in many cities including such Amman, Cairo, Istanbul, as well as across the Palestinian Territories. Since protestors erupted more than ten were killed and hundreds injured in Gaza, Jerusalem, and the West Bank during confrontations with the Israeli army.
