A short, 3D-animated film has been published by Saudi media, showing the Saudi military dramatically invading Iran and defeating their regional nemesis.

The film shows a Saudi aid ship in the “Arabian Gulf” destroying incoming Iranian boats and striking Iran by air, land, and sea

The bizarre six-minute clip shows Qasem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force, weakly surrendering to invading troops, before cutting away to crowds of happy Iranians, welcoming Saudi forces as heroes and waving pictures of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

Al-Riyadh newspaper on Friday hailed the video, produced by online account "Saudi Deterrent Force," for its "realistic depiction" of a war between Riyadh and Tehran. "It also lays out the operational reality of how the Saudi army manages its military system," the paper noted.

The film was also widely celebrated on Saudi Twitter.

“The film narrates the strong Saudi Military’s reality. They deserve it, our brave soldiers, to be a warning for who doesn't know who we are.”

However, outside of Saudi Arabia the film has been widely mocked on social media as propaganda and “delusional.”

The strongest Arabic comedy films in history:
1- Tier Enta- an Egyptian comedy film produced in 2009.
2- Hammam feh Amsterdam (Hammam in Amsterdam)- another Egyptian film produced in 1999.
3- The Saudi Strike Movie

And this is the reality.

Even Iran’s official news agency hit back, challenging Saudi’s self-proclaimed military prowess by tweeting a video for missiles fired on Saudi Arabia by Houthi forces in Yemen.

The video appears to be a response to a clip published by the Iranians in early 2017 showing a “Yemeni” missile attack on Saudi Arabia, MEMRI said.

Tensions have been rising between Saudi Arabia and Iran after Saudi Arabia severed diplomatic relations in January 2016.

Iran and Saudi Arabia have been engaged in a regional battle for dominance being fought by proxies across the region, with both powers backing opposing sides in wars and power struggles from Yemen to Syria.
