The Jordanian Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC) circulated on Sunday an announcement warning people from using bitcoin, as the Jordanian Central Bank bans bitcoin from entering the country.

This comes after the Central Bank earlier released a decision warning banks, exchange companies and different sectors of using the bitcoin.

The bitcoin is a new digital currency that was created in 2009. It is used to offer low-fees transactions, lower than traditional online payment mechanisms.

While there is no official data about the number of users of bitcoin, researchers estimate there are around 5 million owners for bitcoin in 2017.

The currency’s price increased sharply during recent months, to reach $16,531 by December 15, 2017, after it was valued around $1,139 at the beginning of the year.
