A pediatrician was attacked by a citizen on Saturday at Al-Zarqa Governmental Hospital.

Dr. Mahmoud Zureikat, the Director of Al-Zarqa Governmental Hospital, said in a statement that the citizen broke down the door of the meeting room in the Pediatrics Department in the morning, used foul language against all the doctors of the department, and attacked the doctor responsible for his child.

According to Dr. Zureikat, the physical damages were estimated at 1200 JOD, which included computers, cables and other equipment.

The attacked doctor was taken in for surgery, while Dr. Zureikat reported the incident to security and filed a complaint to the Administrative Governor and the Attorney General of Al-Zarqa.

This is the third assault on the medical staff of Al-Zarqa Governmental Hospital during the month of December. Earlier this month, two nurses were attacked by a citizen that was receiving treatment at the hospital.
