Al-Baqaa was one of the first areas in the Kindgom to start protests against Trump's announcement of moving the US embassy to Jerusalem.

Al-Baqa’a refugee camp has gone on strike since yesterday against Trump’s announcement earlier last week.
Shops and stores in the area were closed while banners were hung up, reading “For the town of prayers,” in reference to Jerusalem.

The hashtag al-Baqaa camp is trending in Arabic on social media, with dozens of people expressing gratitude for such a move.

“There’s no taste for our bread when al-Aqsa is bleeding.”

“Al-Baqaa camp is different, shops and stores closed as part of the strike. From al-Baqa’a this is Jerusalem.”

"Any strike should be like the one in Baqaa, otherwise, it is not considered a strike... Is it possible that we hear people chanting, to Jerusalem we go as millions of martyrs."
