Dozens of Jordanian MPs demanded on Sunday that the streets next to the US and Israeli embassies are renamed to “Jerusalem Street” and “Palestine Street.”

The US Embassy is currently located on Al-Umawyeen Street, which MPs want changed to “Jerusalem Street,” while the Israeli Embassy is located on Maysaloon Street, which they asked to be changed to “Palestine Street.”

This comes after US President Donald Trump declared Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and set the wheels in motion for the relocation of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Since then, mass protests have been taking place in Amman and other Jordanian cities, in addition to anti-Trump demonstrations taking place in many Muslim and Western countries.
