Security forces closed a main road leading to Abdoun, Amman, as hundreds of protesters gather outside the U.S. embassy in thea area.

According to eyewitness reports, there is an extremely heavy police presence, police are detouring car to ensure the traffic continues to flow.

This comes following U.S. President Trump’s decision to declare Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel, and he confirmed the plans to move the US embassy to Jerusalem.

Yesterday the US Embassy in Amman issued orders for American citizens living in Jordan to limit their public movement, and asked US Embassy Staff to not send children to school on December 7, cautioning them of “the need for caution and awareness of personal security”.
