Hundreds of Jordanians are protesting in Al Baqa’a, Amman, expressing anger and frustration over Trump’s decision to declare Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel, and he confirmed the plans to move the US embassy to Jerusalem.
Trump recognized Jerusalem as the Israeli capital at 6pm GMT on Wednesday, saying that the decision was “long overdue,” adding that this step is intended to push the peace process forward in the Middle East towards a lasting agreement.
Trump also said that his government has already started the procedures of moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Following Trump’s decision, the US Minister of Foreign Affairs announced that Washington is going to start with moving the embassy immediately.
