The Public Service Directorate (PSD) arrested 118 men harassing students in all-girls schools following a security campaign the police launched last week.

According to a police source, 90 of the 118 arrested were juveniles.

The campaigns, according to the source, were launched following several complaints filed by concerned citizens regarding the increase in numbers of men loitering outside of schools for girls in Amman.

The extensive campaigns had police squads intensify their presence at the starts and ends of schooldays in order to apprehend the suspects.

The 90 juveniles were transferred to the Juvenile Police Department, while the 28 adults arrested were referred to the governor of Amman.

The source confirmed that the campaigns will continue in coordination with the Ministry of Education, schools, and citizens.
