Couple of days before the Palestinian Authority is scheduled to take over the Gaza Strip according to the recent reconciliation agreement,Hamas movement announced on Monday that it will not allow any negotiations about its weapon.
Hamas deputy leader in Gaza Khalil Hayya said in a press conference held in Gaza that "resistance group is a non-negotiable, and that this weapon will also reach the West Bank to fight the Israeli occupation. it's our right to resist the occupation until it's defeated."
Hayya added that no one can take this weapon away, not the US or anybody else.
Hayya urged upon every faction to stop discussing this issue.
Two rival parties of Fatah and Hamas have signed an Egyptian-brokered reconciliation agreement earlier in October ending a decade-long split, but analysts doubt that this agreement will be implemented on the ground.
Palestinian factions held a meeting in Cairo earlier last week to discuss other issues such us elections and forming a new government, but they ended up with no real decisions.
