The onset of winter may be postponed as warmer weather is expected in Amman this weekend, with highs of 18 degrees and decent levels of sunshine on Saturday.
The more moderate temperatures come after a sudden drop in the mercury this week, signalling the arrival of winter, with heavy rainfall hitting much of the country.
Temperatures will rise slightly in Amman on Thursday, with highs of 16 degrees Celsius, but the cold and clouds will persist in Western parts of the country, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
Friday is also expected to be pleasant in much of the kingdom, with the Jordan Valley and Aqaba experiencing moderate temperatures, with low clouds and north-easterly winds, the JMD said.
