The United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) has denied allegations that they removed a map Palestine and images of Jerusalem from its schools in Jordan.

This comes after Jordanian MP’s on Monday sent a letter to the Jordanian government demanding “violations” by UNRWA were dealt with.

The letter added that the removal of the map and images threatened Palestinian identity and had the potential to harm Palestinians as well as Jordanians.

However, a spokesperson for UNRWA told Roya News English that the reports are based on “inaccurate allegations,” adding that UNRWA teachers and staff confirmed that no such incident had occurred.

UNRWA statistics show that there are about 1.25 million Palestinian refugees in Jordan, including 373,000 living in refugee camps and the others live in the different Jordanian cities and towns.
