Six Syrians were detained over suspicions of planning an attack on the behalf of ISIS, using weapons or explosives,
The suspects aged between 20 and 28 were detained during raids in different German cities, the general prosecutor's office in Frankfurt said in a statement.
Eight apartments were searched and some 500 police officers participated in the raids.

All six detainees applied for asylum and arrived in Germany between 2014 and 2015.

According to prosecutors, they were suspected of being members of ISIS.
“The accused are also suspected of having planned an attack against a public target in Germany using either weapons or explosives,” they added.

Earlier this month, a 19-year-old Syrian was arrested over suspicions of planning a bomb attack.

Last year a major attack shook Germany when a failed asylum-seeker from Tunisia drove a truck into a Christmas market, killing twelve people.
