An Irbid school was evacuated today after fears of the building’s collapse surfaced.

A team of experts belonging to the Department of Education in Irbid determined that the building was unsafe, after recurring partial collapses of the classroom’s ceilings.

Students were evacuated from the 45-year-old building and transferred to other schools for their safety, some of whom were moved to a nearby school, 150 meters away from the evacuated one.

Members of the local council and parents of the children demanded the Ministry of Education to find a solution to the problem, as the school’s condition is deteriorating rapidly, and most of its property is outdated and old, and the classes are overcrowded, posing a safety risk to the students.
