Seven hundred kgs of shatta, Arabic hot sauce, were seized and destroyed by Local Health Departments in Al Mafraq Thursday - not for being too hot though.

The sauce that was seized, along with 150kgs worth of dairy products, juice, and sweets in a local Mafraq store for outstaying their shelf-lives.

The Municipality of Mafraq issued a statement expressing gratitude for efforts expended by all parties involved in the seizure and destruction of the expired foodstuffs.

The Municipality said it will take legal action against any violators of health protocol in the governorate.
