Medical personnel have destroyed expired food unsuitable for human consumption, that were on sale in a number of retail markets in Mafraq, Jordan.

The municipality is keen to intensify the control of all shops, and to stop the trading of any expired items, Amer al-Daghmi the Mayor of Al-Mafraq noted.

He also pointed out that the offenders will be sent to the relevant authorities, and that the appropriate legal procedures will be taken for this case.

The citizens need to cooperate with the municipality, and raise any suspicions related to similar issues, he added.
