The Ministry of Water and Irrigation has just finished the report on the largest electricity and water theft in the Kingdom, which will now be submitted to the Judicial Authority.

The report stipulated that the thief must be fined 2.7 million JOD.

Last month, a joint force of Public Service Directorate and Gendarmerie seized equipment worth 300 thousand JOD used to embezzle electrical power.

According to a 2015 study, the world loses nearly $89.3 billion annually to electricity theft. The highest theft recorded that year was in India, clocking at $16.2 billion, followed by Brazil at $10.5 billion.
