Four electricity converters were shot at on Wednesday in the south area of Shouneh, Jordan, leading to a breakdown in the converters.

Hundreds of families have since been left without electricity, the Jordanian Electric Power (JEP) company said in a statement.

According to JEP, twenty-one converters have been shot at in 10 days.

The company warned that many converters are breaking down due to such assaults, and that all of them were main converters.

Meanwhile, the company expressed that communicating with the concerned authorities has done little to prevent such incidents from occurring.
