Dr. Fakher Daas, coordinator of the Thaba7toona “You’re killing us” campaign, stood before the public prosecutor of al-Salt on Monday, after Al-Balqa University filed a complaint against the activist.

Daas had published a post on Facebook criticizing the increase in tuition fees at Al-Balqa University, leading the university to file a complaint.

The general prosecutor decided to release Daas until the case is transferred to the judiciary.

This is the first time a complaint has been filed against the Thaba7toona campaign since it was established in 2007.

Thaba7toona ,“You’re killing us,” is a campaign that fights for students rights in Jordan.

The campaign embodies “national youth” spirit, Daas told Ro’ya, and is a stand against tuition fees under the slogan “Education is for the poor too.”

The campaign has also extended its work to fighting for student’s academic rights and freedom of speech, according to Daas.
