Israeli forces raided the Darwish Nazzal hospital in Qalqilya on Thursday morning and fired tear gas inside the hospital, leaving many patients, particularly children, unable to breathe, according to Wafa News Agency.

Health Minister Jawad Awwad condemned the assault and described it as a ‘barbaric’ act and a violation for all norms and conventions.

Awwad also stressed that he will raise this assault to all international health organizations working in Palestine, to get urgent help against Israel’s continuous assaults.

Israeli soldiers and police earlier during the year stormed a Palestinian hospital twice, in Eastern Jerusalem, preventing doctors from providing emergency medical care to critically injured patients.

“Attacks on civilians can never be justified. However, justice for such attacks cannot be achieved through collective punishment of the Palestinian civilian population,” Magdalena Mughrabi said, the Deputy MENA Director at Amnesty International.
