250 foreign works deported, institutions warned

The Ministry of Labour deported 250 illegal foreign workers, the majority of continued to work despite having expired agricultural work permits. The ministry also issued warnings to institutions found to be violating Jordanian Labour Law.

This came within a series of crackdown on illegal foreign labour. Recently, the government has been taking steps towards creating a labour environment more conducive to domestic workers, with plans to lower foreign labour in the country by 25% by 2021.
