King Abdullah and Crown Prince Hussein met David Johnston, Governor General of Canada today in Ottawa, to discuss bilateral ties and means of developing them in various fields, in addition to the latest development the Middle East.

The King and Johnston stressed the importance of strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries, through encouraging investments, and increasing trade.

They also discussed recent developments in the region, especially regarding the Syrian peace process, and efforts to combat terrorism.

The King discussed the economic and social struggles the Kingdom is experiencing as a result of hosting Syrian refugees.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Royal Hashemite Court, the Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Canada.

The King started his official visit to Canada, accompanied by Crown Prince Hussein yesterday, and was received by Governor General Johnston at Rideau Hall.
