Dozens of Israeli settlers stormed Al Aqsa early on Monday, entering through the Magharba Gate under heavy Israeli police protection.

Occupation forces had opened the gate at 7:30AM and spread throughout the Mosque’s courtyard in order to offer protection to the extremist Israelis stormed the site. They also imposed stricter ID checks on those wishing to enter the Mosque to pray and detained several Palestinians.

This coincides with the 48th anniversary of the day Australian Christian extremist Denis Michael Rohan set the Mosque on fire, inflicting damage to many of its facilities.

The raid is said to have concluded at 11AM, at which point police forces evacuated the premises.
