The Independent Election Commission (IEC) sent the final municipal and city council elections results to the Government for publication in the Government’s official newspaper today.

Jihad Al Momani, the official spokesperson for the IEC said that each voter will be able to file an appeal at the Appeal Court within the 15 following the release of the results, while citing the reasons behind the appeal based on article (32) of the decentralization law.

Al Momani said that voters may also file appeals in the same time period at the Court of First Instance according to article (61) of the municipality law.

The IEC had announced the results this past Wednesday in a press conference.
