Unidentified gunmen opened fire on two power stations in Husseiniyah, an area in the governorate of Ma'an this morning, causing damage to them according to a statement from the Electricity Distribution Company. 

Director of Ma'an's electricity Mohammad al-Mazaydeh said that a private station powering public lighting on the desert road in Hashimiyah, caught on fire leading to major damages. 

al-Mazaydeh added that the company's technical staff were able to isolate the damages, and restore electricity to the affected area. As a result of the incident, a power outage lasting one hour affected approximately 1800 residents. 

In another incident, a similar situation occured on a lighting transformer on the Husseiniyah bridge in the area of Rawdat Hashem. Shots fired broke the electric current, but the company assured that it is taking the necessary steps to restore power and repair damages.
