Following a press conference held by the Independent Electoral Commission, the Board of Commissioners decided to close all ballot boxes in the Kingdom.

They also decided to extent voting by one hour to the municipalities of Amman, Zarqa and Irbid.

Spokesman of the IEC Jihad al-Momani asserted that all voters remaining at the polling stations remain, even if closing time is delayed. Momani adds that this is due to a large number of citizens waiting to cast their votes.

Thus far, it is estimated that a total of 1 million and 231 thousand people have voted.
