A delegation from the U.S. Center for Constitutional Democracy (CCD),visited the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission in Jordan on Tuesday, to learn about its programs and work mechanisms to promote integrity and combat corruption, Petra news has reported.

The visit is part of a study prepared by the CCD on countries that follow democratic and constitutional reform measures.

The CCD and Anti-Corruption Commission discussed the future cooperation, since it has various partnerships with different international bodies, and briefed US team on the commission's work, including combatting corruption in public administration.

According to Transparency International’s 2016 Corruption Perceptions Index, Jordan is perceived as corrupt and less transparent than in 2015.

Jordan’s score in the index dropped in 2016 by 5 points compared to the year before, ranking 57th out of 176 countries, in comparison to 45th the previous year.

Jordan came fourth regionally, following the United Arab Emirates (24th), Israel (28th) and Qatar (ranked 31st).
