House Speaker Atef Al Tarawneh was baffled by a 14-page long article in the bill amending supervision and inspection of economic activities law.

“It’s absurd that this article is 14-pages long. This is a law, not a speech!”, Al Tarawneh said after an MP presented the bill to him.

The Speaker also expressed his irritation at MPs who show up to sessions for a few minutes to record their presence and then leave, saying, “you attend these sessions for five minutes and then leave, this is not permissible.”
