The Israeli army has enforced its presence in Jerusalem and areas surrounding it in preparation for possible confrontations with Palestinians for today’s Friday prayers.

Two Palestinians were detained by Israeli forces today from a town south of Al Aqsa Mosque, and were transferred to a detention center in Jerusalem.

Tensions have been high in the city of Jerusalem for the past three weeks after Palestinians boycotted prayer at Al Aqsa for Israel’s use of dehumanizing and stringent security measures after three Palestinians killed two Israeli police officers in Al Aqsa’s courtyards three weeks ago.
