A woman who lost her beloved cat in a house fire last week was treated to a fluffy surprise by the Dubai Civil Defence (DCD).

The DCD must have been inspired by the Emirate’s Ministry of State for Happiness when they proceeded with presenting the Dubai resident with a cat that looks exactly like the pet she lost in the fire.

This is the first time the department has initiated a gesture of this kind.

Major General Rashed Thani al Matroushi, head of the DCD, not only found the purrfect way to mend a broken heart, but he reminded us that spreading love and positivity is the only way forward.
