Jordanian Twitter users have named a journalist and a film director as among the Jordanians they are "most proud of", alongside members of the Royal family and military, political and religious figures.

Among those named under the trending hashtag of "Jordanians personalities you're proud of" was Ola Al Fares, a Jordanian journalist working at the MBC's channels in Dubai. Fares is widely known in the Arab world, and is the second most followed Jordanian woman on Twitter, after Her Majesty Queen Rania.

British-Jordanian Naji Abu Nowar, director of the award-winning feature film Theeb, was also praised for his achievements, including his winning of a BAFTA in 2016 for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer, as well as becoming the first Jordanian film to ever be nominated for an Oscar.

Many Twitter users also expressed their admiration for the Royal family, in particular Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania, and his late father, His Majesty King Hussein.

Prominent figures from the Kingdom's political and military past were also praised, such as former prime minister Wasfi Al Tal and Muath Al Kasasbeh, the Jordanian pilot murdered by Daesh in Syria in early 2015.
