The Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) extinguished a fire that blazed for hours on end in a hazard waste site in the Swaga area in Al Karak.

The fire started yesterday morning and was finally extinguished by the CDD personnel at dawn today, given the nature of the flammable material contained at the site.

Initial investigations of the incident indicated that the fire was caused by the reaction of the flammable chemical material to the rising temperatures and the heat wave Jordan has seen in the past few days.
