A foreign worker died on Tuesday after a wall collapsed during construction work in the Jandawil area of Amman, the Civil Defence Department (CDD) said on Wednesday.

According to the CDD's media department, on Tuesday CDD rescue teams and medical personnel attended a wall collapse in the Jandawil area.

On arrival, the first responders discovered that a migrant worker had been “immediately” killed when an under-construction wall collapsed on top of him.

The worker, whose nationality is not known, died as a result of fractures and other injuries, the CDD report said, adding that the body was transferred to Medical City Hospital.
