For the past week, social media users have been disputing whether it is “detestable” in Islam to tie the knot in the period between Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha.

To put the minds of grooms and brides-to-be at rest, the Jordanian Fatwa Department issued a statement on FB, clarifying that there is no such prohibition in Islam.

While traditionally, Muslims do not get married during the holy month of Ramadan, wedding season resumes after Eid Al-Fitr, up until the next Ramadan.
