The Syrian Armed Forces announced on Monday that a ceasefire south of the country started at 12pm on Sunday, July 2, and will end at midnight on Thursday, July 6 of this month.

In a statement published by Syria’s official state news agency, SANA, the army said that cities abiding by the ceasefire include Daraa, Quneitra and As-Suwayda.

The statement added that the army will be taking action against the cities violating the ceasefire, which has been put into effect in support of the peace process and national reconciliation.

The Syrian civil war started in 2011. Since then, more than 250,000 lost their lives in the conflict.
