Two police injured after clash in Amman

Two members of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) were injured on Thursday evening after a clash with three people in the Naour area of Amman.

The incident occurred Thursday evening, after the Command and Control Center responded to a report regarding a suspicious vehicle in south Amman with no number plate, according to the Public Security Directorate.

When the patrol arrived to inspect the situation, the vehicle drove into the patrol. The patrol retaliated by firing shots at the car, damaging the vehicle.

Two officers were injured and rushed to the hospital and they are in a stable condition.

Two of the car’s passengers were reportedly arrested, and found to have prior criminal records including possession of drugs and weapons.

They were taken to hospital after being shot by police in the abdomen during the clash, and are reportedly in a stable condition.
