The Mafraq Municipality Health Department confiscated large amounts of spoiled shawarma and expired chicken in a restaurant in the city of Al Mafraq this week.

The Chairman of the Municipality’s Committee Ghassan Al Kayid said that the municipality has worked relentlessly to strengthen its inspections of restaurants during Eid Al Fitr to protect civilians and to guarantee they are served food of the highest quality and standards.

Jordan has seen the end of the spoiled chicken case investigations nearly two weeks ago, in which the District Attorney of Amman referred four suspects to court, charging them with circulating nearly 75 tons of spoiled chicken as charity packages throughout the kingdom.
