Wael Arabiyyat, the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, offered his condolences on behalf of Jordanian Prime Minister Hani Al Mulki to the families of the pilgrims who died in a fatal bus crash in Jordan on Monday.

The coach was carrying returning worshippers from Umrah. It overturned on the road between Tafilah and Karak in Jordan, killing six people and injuring dozens others.

Meanwhile, another bus, also carrying returning pilgrims, was involved in an accident in Karak, leaving three people injured.

Arabiyyat insisted that his ministry will do everything in its power to investigate the horrific incidents, by following up with the Ministry of Transport and the Public Security Directorate, until the cause behind each crash has been discovered.

Following an initial investigation, police discovered that the company running the coaches had already violated the law in previous times, which immediately prompted the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs to discredit them and their services.
