Israeli occupation forces have moved into the area near Jabaliya refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Ma'an News Agency.

Palestinian sources said that the Israeli occupation forces, reinforced by bulldozers and military vehicles, penetrated dozens of meters into Gaza, near a cemetery east of Jabaliya refugee camp.

They are reported to have carried out demolitions in the area.

“Palestinians in Gaza are 'locked in', denied free access to the remainder of the occupied Palestinian territory and the outside world”, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

OCHA added that The UN Secretary-General has found that the siege of Gaza and other related restrictions “contravene international humanitarian law, as they target and impose hardship on the civilian population, effectively penalising them for acts they have not committed”, amounting to collective punishment.
