Many students at the University of California remained in a sit-in protest, despite some leaving after warnings from the police, according to reports from the New York Times.

The Los Angeles Police Department issued orders to break up the sit-in camp on the University of California campus and increased their presence there.

The University of California announced that classes on Thursday and Friday will be conducted online.

Across various American universities, thousands of students are continuing their sit-in protests on campuses, condemning the Israeli Occupation's actions in Gaza and calling for divestment from any investments tied to the occupation.

Press reports indicated that American police used force against protesters, and over 1,200 participants in the sit-ins have been arrested.

The protests have spread from universities in California to northeastern states, as well as central and southern states like Texas and Arizona.
